To the Parents: What to Stop Doing to Save Your Children's Future
Are you accidentally sabotaging your child’s destiny? We often focus on what to give our children, but at Godfirstlink, we believe what you stop doing is even more critical. Your home is the laboratory where their future is synthesized. Today, we identify the "Toxic Habits" parents must abandon to ensure their children’s "Golden Link" remains unbroken.
In "Marriage and Happiness" engineering, parents are the System Administrators. If the administrator is careless, the entire network (the children) suffers. To save their future, there are specific behaviors we must "Force Quit" immediately.
1. STOP the "Hypocrisy Link": Children don’t follow your advice; they follow your tracks. If you tell them to pray but they only see you scrolling on your phone, you are planting seeds of confusion.
• The Start: Consistent, visible devotion.
2. STOP Competing in Front of Them: When parents argue or devalue each other in the presence of children, it creates "Emotional Noise" that stunts a child's development. They begin to see marriage as a battlefield rather than a sanctuary.
• The Start: A united front, even when you disagree.
3. STOP Living Your Unfulfilled Dreams Through Them: Your child is a unique "Link" in God’s chain, not a second chance for your own career. Pressuring them to be who you wanted to be creates resentment.
• The Start: Observing and nurturing their God-given temperament and talents.
The Impact on Health & Destiny:
A home filled with parental "Stops" (anger, neglect, or hypocrisy) keeps a child in a constant state of "Fight or Flight." This affects their brain development, their grades, and eventually, their own future marriages. By stopping these behaviors, you provide the "Clean Energy" they need to soar.
The Scriptural Blueprint:
Colossians 3:21 warns us: "Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged." Our role is to encourage the "Link," not to break it through harshness or inconsistency.
The "Curable Measure" for Day 15:
1. The Apology Audit: If you lost your temper or acted hypocritically recently, sit your children down today and apologize. It teaches them that the "Golden Link" can be repaired through humility.
2. The Listening Session: Spend 15 minutes today asking your child, "How can I be a better parent to you?" and just listen without defending yourself
